Solid Block – Spherical Roller Bearing. Spherical roller bearing solid-block housed units are designed for the most challenging circumstances. Made with cast-steel housings and Timken high-performance spherical roller bearings, these are the only spherical roller bearing housed units to offer steel solid-block housings as standard.Pillow blocks have a solid base beneath the bolt holes and thicker mounting feet. Spherical Roller Bearings have an eccentric locking collar that mates with the bearing inner race for shaft hold. One end of the inner race is machined to a cam form and the mating lock collar.

The Bower Type E bearing unit is one-piece sturdy cast iron housing with elongated mounting slots featuring a spherical roller bearing insert that allows for +/- 2 degrees of misalignment. Bower Type E units also feature a set screw locking collar, machined brass retainer, double-lip heavy contact seal with metal shield, and an extended inner ring.
